NAME

     comment - adds up to 100 comment  lines  to  the  historical
     line header.


SYNOPSIS

     comment [ -Nntap] [ -Ootap] [ -Cc1] [  -Dctap]  [  -nsns]  [
     -nene] [ -rsirs] [ -reire] [ '-?']


DESCRIPTION

     comment reads comment lines and appends them to the histori-
     cal  line  header.  These comments come either from the com-
     mand line in the form of double quoted strings  or  from  an
     ascii  flat  file  one comment per line.  In either case the
     comments are limited to 80 characters  in  length  (although
     you can have up to 100 of them).

     COMMENT gets data and parameters  from  command  line  argu-
     ments.  These  arguments  specify the input, the output, and
     the comment lines.

  Command line arguments
     -Nntap
          Enter the input data set immediately after typing -N.

     -Ootap
          Enter the output data set immediately after typing -O.

     -Cc1 Enter comments on the commend line enclosed  by  quotes
          immediately after typing -C.  (Note: You can include up
          to 100 lines and each comment  must  be  less  than  80
          characters  in  length; precede each comment with -C.).
          Or,

     -Dctap
          Enter the name of an ascii  flat  file  containing  the
          comments  (one comment per line) with each comment less
          than 80 characters in length.

     -nsns
          Enter  first  trace  in   record   after   typing   -ns
          (default=1).

     -nene
          Enter  last  trace   in   record   after   typing   -ne
          (default=#tr/record).

     -rsirs
          Enter  first  record  to  process  after   typing   -rs
          (default=1).

     -reire
          Enter  last  reccord  to  process  after   typing   -re
          (default=#records).

     '-?' Enter '-?' to get online help. Program terminates after
          printing this.
