NAME
surface - converts output of GLI3D to an XSD pick file.
SYNOPSIS
surface [ -Nntap] [ -Ootap] [ -ddatum] [ -nznz] [ -maxmax-
ind] [ -iminimin] [ -imaximax] [ -nlaynlayers] [ -R] [ -C] [
-G] [ -B] [ -Q] [ -iseediseed] [ '-?']
DESCRIPTION
surface reads a report file computed by GLI3D (*.ele or
*.mlf) that contains weathering statics corrections, model
coordinates, and model velocities; and outputs XSD picks
delineating the topography and layers of the refraction
model. Any missing groups are interpolated linearly from
its nearest neighbors.
SURFACE gets data and parameters from command line argu-
ments. These arguments specify the input GLI file (*.ele or
*.mlf), the output XSD file, the datum elevation, the depth
increment for a corresponding migrated depth section, the
maximum receiver station (DISCO input only), the min and max
receiver stations, the number of layers in the GLI model, a
flag to reverse the plotting direction of the picks, and a
flag to signify 3 or more layers in the model.
Command line arguments
-Nntap
Enter the input GLI file name (*.ele or *.mlf) immedi-
ately after typing -N.
-Ootap
Enter the output XSD file name immediately after typing
-O.
-nznz
Enter z depth increment after typing -nz.
-maxmaxind
Enter maximum receiver station (for DISCO input only)
after typing -max.
-iminimin
Enter minimum receiver station to use after typing
-imin.
-imaximax
Enter maximum receiver station to use after typing
-imax.
-nlaynlayers
Enter number of layers in refraction model after typing
-nlay (default=2).
-R Type -R to reverse the order of the picks.
-C Type -C to get picks at cdp's [number of picks =
2*(imax-imin) + 1].
-G Type -G for GLI input; otherwise we assume the data is
a DISCO file (*.mlf)
-B Type -B if the statics model contains 3 or more layers.
-Q Type -Q if the input gli3d file came from the batch
(not interactive) gli3d program. Otherwise, SURFACE
assumes the input from GLI3D was the newer interactive
program.
-iseediseed
Enter a seed value to add to all data value entries in
the statics file to prevent any naturally occuring
zeros from occuring. The default value is -7777 and
should work for all cases except where the value 7777
occurs in the statics file.
'-?' Enter '-?' to get online help. Program terminates after
printing this.
BUGS
I know, they're program redundancies.
